Here are a couple of very special tea cups made by a great Korean Potter called Song Seung
Hwa. His reputation is growing, especially in Japan. These cups are thin and very fine but the texture is a little rough. This pottery is wood kiln fired. The price for this type of pottery is much more expensive than gas kiln fired pottery, and the reason is because of the amount of labor that is invloved as well as the success rate of the firing: only 40% of the pottery that is wood fired is sold. The second reason for the price difference is the artisans reputation and skill. These two cups are very lovely and will make your tea drinking experience very enjoyable. I personally love the rough textures and sharpness of these cups. I hope you will as well.
